My ring came back for LESS than the old appraisal that was 13 years old. I complained and then showed them the old appraisal and then they raised it to the old appraisal value. They didn’t even have the size of the stone correct. Not good.
I went into Mack and Son’s for a repair they were really rude, argumentative, and condescending. I don’t recommend them to anyone. Go somewhere else.
They then appraised my watch for $5,800. It was much LESS than the old appraisal! Thirteen years prior to that it was appraised for $11,200. It is a high end watch that appreciates in value over time. I was Disgusted and left the store. I went jet skiing about 1 week later and as soon as some spray got on my watch from jet skiing (I had worn my watch many times jet skiing, because it is waterproof) water started getting under my bezel, because when they did my appraisal they broke my (water proofing) seal, but never mentioned that to me. Now my watch is at another jewelers being repaired at a cost to me of $500 dollars.

I took my watch and ring in for an appraisal for the insurance company.
They charged me $319 for both appraisals. However today I was charged $60 (from a certified appraiser) to redo my ring appraisal. What a scam. These guys do not know what they are doing and are extremely overpriced. Buyer beware.
