Dessert- Chocolate cake! Get it! Melty Chocolate goodness.
Service is well above normal - outstanding. They accommodated my requests and even suggested better options which made extra work for them. Outstanding. And the environment is very inviting. Great for adults having romantic evenings. Nice music. But the food was nothing special. It looked spectacular, but it did not have the complexity and richness needed. (And given the prices, the meal should be interesting.) The French onion soup tasted no better than a non-Denny's version of this meal. The salads are huge, but too simple in content. Will visit again.
He got the rib-eye- Wow i tried some it was so tender and tasted delicious. Per the waiter lots of marbling.
I got the bacon wrapped duck- Very tender duck wrapped in smoky bacon on top of some mashed potatoes with pear? on the inside. The mashed potatoes were okay. Sweet and savory dinner.
This is a classy restaurant that has really good, hearty food. My wife and I had our wedding luncheon here and they were very accommodating. The restaurant setup wasn't ideal for the occasion entirely due to the size of our group, but it worked regardless and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Appetizer- The most delicious bacon wrapped dates. I wish it came with more than 4. I would eat them as an entree. Amazing smokey bacon and subtle date sweetness with a almond in the middle. So good.
Had a great dinner here. Amazing service- waiter had great menu suggestions, water cup never half-empty, and I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere.
The menu has some great choices. I had the Reuben. I love a good Reuben! The salad it came with was really good too. They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks. Next time you are in St. George visit this restaurant.
I also got a side of roasted pear with this blue cheese toasted walnut center. Very delicious.
I would say they are definitely within the top 3 dine-in restaurants in southern utah.
Just happened upon this spot during an afternoon Sunday walk. I was pleasantly surprised with this find! The Painted Pony makes you feel important while you sit down and have an elegant meal. The food was well prepared and plated. The service was impeccable. Count yourself lucky if you have the honor to be served by a waiter named John there. He's educated on the food, he made me feel like a customer that mattered, and he was very respectful. Check out the Painted Pony when you have a chance. It is definitely pricy, but worth every dollar spent and tipped.
