My wife and I have absolutely loved living here at Sunset Springs. The rates were very affordable, especially for the size and condition of the apartments. It has truly felt like home here and we are sad to leave. Debra is always on top of everything and has been prompt to respond to any questions or inquiries. The maintenance staff is also great. We had a few issues with minor leaks when we first moved in but everything was always resolved quickly. For the age of the apartments we have been impressed with the condition, these apartments have obviously been well maintained. We would definitely recommend this apartment complex to everyone!
The downsides: The hot tub is almost always broken. There are quite a few strict rules for holidays such as no trick-or-treating, no candles in pumpkins, no christmas lights on the banisters, no fireworks on fourth of July, etc. They do not allow pets of any size. I had my motorcycle stolen and my car broken into while I lived here so I wish they would put in cameras over the parking lot.
Apartments are spacious, cheap, and well insulated. Not up-to-date, but cosmetics were not our top priority so we didn't mind. Noise was rarely a problem. Maintenance requests were dealt with in a timely manner, but as one other reviewer wrote--just assume you won't get your deposit back. We hired a professional cleaner and were still charged the $200 cleaning fee, plus other fees resulting in us having to pay them back after we'd left. They should just refer you to the cleaning company that they use if that's the only way that it's possible to retain half of the deposit.
Absolutely the worst living experience of my life. My wife and I moved in in 2014 and stayed for about a year. Of the $750 deposit, they kept over $500 when we moved out. Their explanation was due to carpet cleaners having to come in and clean the apartments. Debra the office lady or whatever she is, is absolutely out there when it comes to the modern world. She is very intrusive on what you do in your personal time, and has completely insane rules and regulations about what you can and cannot do while you live there. Rent went up once for no reason, hot tub rarely works, the back playground and yard area is A DUMP, do not be deceived by the pictures. The whole complex is a mess, AC doesn't work in backrooms. She'll be super nice to you when you are considering it, but as soon as you sign the paper and give her the deposit. Don't expect her to even say hi to you when she see's you, and absolutely don't expect to see that money back. Trust me, stay away. If you would like more reasons and personal stories as to why not to stay here, please feel free to reach me at any time.
I lived at Sunset Springs for 3 years and enjoyed it. Now that I have moved to another apartment complex I am really missing the smoke-free aspect of Sunset Springs. The pool was always maintained well and open for a long part of the year. The apartment was in good condition when I moved in and was a good price for the amount of space it has. Maintenance was amazing; they are quick, competent and friendly. Getting free Tuacahn tickets twice a year was also a big bonus we enjoyed. There is assigned covered parking. They spray your apartment for bugs twice a year. The management is courteous and helpful when needed. I liked that the apartment was far enough away from the college campus not to be really loud and annoying at night but close enough that I could get to class in about ten minutes. Very child friendly location close to running trail. I loved how I could hear the frogs and stream at night if I left the window open.
It's good! No bugs, free Tuacahn tickets, cheaper rent for those who qualify, the pool is a nice plus and is very clean, if you have a problem it gets fixed, management is good, smoke free, Some things could be updated but I didn't get one of the updated units that they have and just means cheaper rent for us. That's all we truly cared about is the rent price so I can stay home with our 2 babies and is way cheaper and nicer compared to other places we were looking at.
