Field trip with Nana today! We visited the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and watched reptiles do battle! Very cool. If you call ahead, they do educational group presentations.
I can't say enough for how much I love this area. Absolutely amazing hiking trails that also work great as running trails. Breathtaking scenery and the weather is almost always nice, as long as you can handle a little heat in the summer. I don't live in the area but wish I did because of how amazing this reserve is.
This is a beautiful place to hike and camp that's off the beaten path. My family and I went for a day hike, and we really liked the red rock canyons and the beautiful trees that found a way to thrive in such a hot and dry place. We went here in June, so it was a bit dry, but I can imagine how beautiful this place would be in the Spring (and even the winter). If you like hiking and camping, there's enough here for you to enjoy and explore for a day or two.
Kids had so much fun they learned about turtles and did a craft after
Great park. Lots of plant variety. There are swings. The underwater viewing is cool but but sometimes its hard to see the fish.
