Son went into the ER at night for appendix issues. Staff was great until the end. Son came out of the surgery and because he was being released as a minor he had to go to the pediatric side. During outpatient procedures the nurse there would not give my son pain medicine because he was in a lot of pain after the surgery because she said “I don’t like to give children pain medicine“. Because my wife was there and I was not nothing happened. If I was there I would’ve gone ballistic on this chick. In a small town you don’t piss people off. Because things come around. Luckily I know who she is. I rate this poor because of that experience right there.

After a short while my mom asked if she could get something for the pain, Motrin to be exact (not opiates). So while my mom mustered every bit of strength to get up and go to the restroom, the following disgrace of human kind takes place:

I went in to ER for shortness of breath and slight chest pain and the short bald dr. christensen had an ATTITUDE and was very condescending and flat out treated me like he was soooo much better than me sent me out with an albueteral and a few anti anxiety pills and blamed it on my earlier years of smoking and copd. Did not offer a ekg or chest exray or stress test. Just sent me on my way. I had to get to Vet Admin hospital to find out I had heart disease. I could have died! I would give NO stars if I could. They can tell if your not one of their own (mormon), and they will give you the most unprofessional treatment if you are not in their fold. Dont go here.

Special Thanks to everyone else who were very kind, courteous and helpful... Mr. Jackson, Dr. Crosby, nurse Coco. The paramedic lady who helped my mom to the restroom.

We were quickly seen and the nurse (Carl Caplin) was quick to ask "what are you on, your slurring your speech?" So from the get-go he was the complete opposite of friendly and had the attitude that my 56 year old mother was seeking opiates and she was full of it... We explained that she hadn't slept even though she had taken her meds. After a UA was done his attitude got worse because she tested positive for "amphetamines" (shes prescribed adderall). At this point my mom was in extreme pain and the ER doc, Dr. Crosby, had discovered my mom has pneumonia.

My MIL fell and fractured her hip. She has had the best care here. They follow hippa and offer a meal plan for the patients that is extensive and seems unlimited. Great hospital

0 stars for Nurse Carl Caplin.

All in all, my mom is being taken care of and will hopefully be ok but the initial Nurse (Carl) should check his attitude and not be so presumptuous that everyone just wants drugs from you. In fact my uncle and I had to convince her that it's in her best interest to take the pain meds because she's not going to be able to rest and heal if she's in constant pain.

I overheard Carl Caplin, the nurse, calling (I believe it was Gregor) the admitting doctor To come down, Mr. Caplin explains "56 year old female, slurring her speech, had taken Xanax, and tested positive for amphetamines, so whatever" followed by a subtle chuckle.

Thankfully, The admitting doctor (I believe his name was Gregor) was great and expressed the severity of the situation.

After talking to "Call a Nurse" for my health insurance, I was instructed to have someone drive me to the ER. I must say that I have never met a more efficient and professional group of care providers. I was well treated by personal staff, had procedures explained, and doctor feedback from the testing. The discharge papers were explicit and written clearly. This is a very fine hospital.

5 stars for everyone else.

My mom had been having trouble with a chronic cough as well as severe pain throughout her entire body. It became unbearable so we took her to the ER. I will say, since my mom takes extremely strong sleep meds for insomnia and wasn't able to sleep at all last night because of the aforementioned cough etc. she had difficulty with slurred speech and was not the most coherent.
