Our church welcomes EVERYONE. We aren't perfect, but if you're looking for a perfect church, forget it! However, if you want to attend a church that will welcome you with open arms, I invite you to St George Community Church.
The lot has a very prominent sign regarding the parking situation. The disgruntled person who was upset because his car was towed on a Sunday stated there were several empty spaces. Maybe so. That doesn't mean that everyone who was attending that day had gotten there yet. During Sunday School, when the attendance isn't as great, yes, there will be empty spaces, but by the time the main service begins at 11 AM, the lot is usually full.
I have gone to St. George Community Church for at least the last ten years. I have many close relationships with the members there. There is great love and compassion . I have never felt so inspired to read the Bible and to witness for our Lord as I have since Pastor Ray Schroeder has was called to be our Pastor. His teachings are strictly Biblical and his messages that God places with him are inspiring ! I love to listen to them and take the message with me into my week. St George Community Church is a blessing to me and I am so grateful God led me to it.
I have been attending this church for a long time. When I first moved here it was the first church we attended and loved it!! We moved here about 21 years ago :) I love the fact that the location is accessible for college students since it is located right across the street!! They're not s long service, but you leave feeling rejoiced and loved by the people attending this church. Very welcoming!!

In the pictures, the first one is the picture of our church and is on our website. On the other pictures it shows the parking lot. It has the cars in it. Now, what this poster didn't mention is that ALL of these cars are not people that goes to our church. This is midweek. This is always how our parking lot looks when school is in session and the students are living in the student housing around our church. We never charge anyone to park there. We could easily block the parking lot, but we have chosen not to do that since it helps the students who have no place to park. In one of the pictures it has the picture of the apartments adjacent to our church. This is where the student lives at that made this report. He parks in our churches parking lot since there is only street parking for the them and the students. I'm sorry this is a long post, I just want people to be aware of why his car was towed and others would be also.
Pastor Ray is a good man. We have served this church for over 7 years now as one of our customers. Every interaction with them has been exemplary as fellow Christians. Thanks for being good people!
I have been attending this church for several years. The college students that we allow to park FREE Monday through Saturday are very considerate and we are happy to be able to offer our parking lot to them.
Then at the end of the street is Dixie State University. When school is in session, that parking lot is full. There is no parking unless you have paid to park there. Again, we allow the students to park for free at our church unless it is on Sundays, then no parking or when there is a funeral. Again, no parking. So, when students have chosen to not read the sign as they enter our parking lot, our church members are having to park in the streets or in that parking lot that is across the busy street. I don't think it is right that an able bodied person would be OK with taking parking spaces from people that are in walkers, wheelchairs or are into their 80's. We ONLY have around 50 parking spots.
I don't think it is unreasonable to ask the students or the residences of the apartments to not park in our churches parking lot on Sundays. I did post a picture of the sign that says no parking on Sundays, but it isn't clear. I will take a readable picture. I took these pictures all but the first one from my computer from google earth. That way, people can see there are many good reasons for why his car was towed.
